In this lesson

You are learning humor, wit, and the light touch: you will read the scene it happens in, learn 10 words and phrases, take apart the pattern behind them (幽默表达句式 — humorous and witty constructions), hear them in a conversation, rehearse them, and finish by saying one thing out loud to be graded.

The scene

A comedy open-mic night at a craft beer bar on Yongkang Road, where comedians riff on Shanghai food culture
