El Vino — Wine Basics in Spanish

Lesson 19 of 150 · Level 1 of 6All lessons
In this lesson

You are learning wine basics in spanish: you will read the scene it happens in, learn 10 words and phrases, take apart the pattern behind them (conditional — polished, sophisticated requests), hear them in a conversation, rehearse them, and finish by saying one thing out loud to be graded.

The scene

A Madrid wine bar or restaurant sommelier. You don't need to be an expert. You need to describe what you like and trust the sommelier to do the rest — that's the skill.

El Sumiller

El sumiller de La Terraza del Casino ha pasado veinte años aprendiendo a escuchar. No pregunta qué vino quieres — pregunta qué vas a comer, qué te gusta y cuánto quieres gastar.
