La Cuenta — Paying the Bill

Lesson 9 of 150 · Level 1 of 6All lessons
In this lesson

You are learning paying the bill: you will read the scene it happens in, learn 10 words and phrases, take apart the pattern behind them (ir a + infinitive = going to do something), hear them in a conversation, rehearse them, and finish by saying one thing out loud to be graded.

The scene

Sobrino de Botín, Calle de los Cuchilleros — the oldest restaurant in the world (1725). The bill will come eventually. You need to ask for it, understand it, and leave gracefully.

» — « No, señor. » Dejan un diez por ciento. Al salir: « Ha sido una comida extraordinaria. Volvemos pronto. »

Y lo dice en serio.
