You are learning talking about wine: you will read the scene it happens in, learn 10 words and phrases, take apart the pattern behind them (wine description + sommelier conversation), hear them in a conversation, rehearse them, and finish by saying one thing out loud to be graded.
The wine conversation — at Septime Cave or any Paris wine bar. Describing what you taste, asking intelligent questions, understanding what a sommelier tells you. The vocabulary that makes wine conversation possible.
After dinner at Septime, the stranger went next door to Septime Cave — a standing-room wine bar serving natural wines by the glass. The sommelier, a young woman named Cécile, poured him a Gamay from Jean Foillard without explaining what it was.
« Je comprends maintenant pourquoi l'accord mets-vins existe. »
