You are learning phrasal verbs + relative clauses combined: you will read the scene it happens in, learn 10 words and phrases, take apart the pattern behind them (combining phrasal verbs and relative clauses), hear them in a conversation, rehearse them, and finish by saying one thing out loud to be graded.
Eataly, Flatiron District, weekend afternoon
A friend who lives in the Flatiron District told me about Eataly. I looked it up online and it turned out to be one of the biggest Italian food markets in the world. The place that I'd read about was even better in person.
We browsed around for an hour. Anika pointed out a counter where they make fresh pasta by hand. The woman who was rolling the dough had been doing it for twenty years. We picked out a bag of handmade tagliatelle that we planned to cook later.
Upstairs, I came across a rooftop restaurant that I didn't even know existed. The menu that the waiter handed us was full of dishes I'd never heard of. Anika pointed out the burrata, which turned out to be the best thing we ordered.
On the way out, we stopped at the gelato counter. The pistachio that I picked out was rich and creamy. 'This is the market that every food lover in New York should know about,' Anika said. She was right. Sometimes you look something up out of curiosity and it turns out to change everything.
