You are learning superlatives and rankings: you will read the scene it happens in, learn 10 words and phrases, take apart the pattern behind them (superlatives (the best / the worst / the most + adjective)), hear them in a conversation, rehearse them, and finish by saying one thing out loud to be graded.
Smorgasburg food market, Williamsburg, Saturday
Smorgasburg is the biggest outdoor food market in New York. Every Saturday, over a hundred vendors set up in Williamsburg. My friend and I went last weekend to find the best food at the market.
We made a plan: try as many things as possible and rank them. First, we tried the ramen burger -- a burger with ramen noodles instead of a bun. It was the most creative thing I've ever eaten. My friend said, 'This is by far the most unique item here.'
Then, we got elote -- Mexican street corn with mayo, cheese, and chili. It was the best corn I've ever had. Top-notch. After that, we tried Thai iced tea and a lobster roll. The lobster roll was the most expensive thing we bought -- fourteen dollars. A little overpriced, but delicious.
At the end, we ranked everything. My top pick was the elote. My friend chose the ramen burger. We both agreed that the Thai iced tea was a must-try and that the lobster roll was good but not the best value. Smorgasburg has the best food scene of any market I've ever visited. We're going back next Saturday.
