The scene

A farewell dinner with friends at a restaurant in the West Village

The Last Supper in the West Village

It's my last night in New York. My friends organized a farewell dinner at a small Italian restaurant in the West Village. The place is tucked away on a quiet street -- a real hidden gem. There are candles on the tables and Sinatra playing softly.

We ordered everything: burrata, fresh pasta, wood-fired pizza, and a bottle of wine. The food was incredible -- maybe the best meal I've had in the entire trip. As we ate, we talked about our favorite memories. Maya said the highlight was Smorgasburg. Carlos said nothing beats that pastrami at Katz's. Priya said the Korean BBQ in K-Town was to die for.

I thought about everything I've experienced: the diners of Brooklyn, the food halls of Chelsea, the subway rides, the late nights, the people I met in line. What a journey. The food was amazing, but the real highlight was the people.

At the end of dinner, I raised my glass. 'I want to make a toast. Cheers to New York, to incredible food, and to even better friends. I'm going to miss all of you. This has been the best experience of my life, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.' Everyone raised their glasses. Maya said, 'Keep in touch. And come back soon.' I said, 'I will. I promise.' It was bittersweet. But I know this isn't goodbye -- it's just 'see you later.'
