Chocolat Chaud
Thick, velvety, and deeply chocolate-forward, this is the classic French café hot chocolate meant to be savored slowly, with a spoon. This is the “Chocolat Chaud” recipe from motion picture and cookbook "Savor,“ featuring the song "Golden Hour Faded" from the “Savor, Part I” soundtrack.

Ingredients
1½ cups whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
Pinch fine sea salt
Method
Heat the dairy
In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk and cream until steaming. Do not boil.Melt the chocolate
Lower the heat. Add the chopped chocolate and whisk slowly until completely melted and smooth.Thicken gently
Continue whisking over low heat for 3–5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken naturally. It should coat the back of a spoon and look glossy.Season
Add the sugar and salt, if using. Taste and adjust lightly.Serve immediately
Pour into small warmed cups. Add a square marshmallow and serve hot.
Notes
Use real dark chocolate, not cocoa powder, for authentic texture.
Keep the heat low and be patient. This is what creates the signature thickness.
